I am grateful for the joy on Melissa’s face whenever she’s allowed to throw something out an open window.
I am grateful for my smokin’ hot husband, and his never ending patience. If not for that, Melissa and I would have driven him crazy at the studio yesterday.

I am grateful for Max’s super cool, new sneaks.

I am grateful for these two people I sat across from on the BART yesterday, because they reminded me of falling in love. They were both super awkward, and clearly knew each other but not very well. She had a to-do list written on the palm of her hand and he kept touching it and commenting on it. She didn’t seem to mind that he was touching her hand. They started talking about the fact that she’s vegetarian, and he said he eats everything because God made everything. She argued that eggs come from chickens, and that chickens are killed brutally and she doesn’t want to support that. The more they debated this, the closer they got to each other. I could totally see them falling in love. I imagined a photo on their mantle – the two of them in a beautiful park – green lawn – eating a picnic on a blanket. I imagined their kids, and her giggling at him for funny things he said.

I am grateful for this video. It was made by an artist in Regina, Canada. I’ll be going there for an art conference in October that Jen is organizing. I emailed her to ask if this is what Regina looks like, and if this is the sense of humor that people have there. Her response is below. I seriously might have to move there.
“Lumber Jack in the City is indeed hilarious. My Friend Eric Hill makes them. He is a funny guy who is quickly getting some recognition in his young age, he received several awards at the Toronto images festival this year, which is great!
That is what Regina looks like. It is quite beautiful here. Everyday on my bike ride to school I get to bike through that park. Canada’s largest urban green space. There are two lakes in it! It is down town! In the summer you can literally walk from the apartment and in 15 minutes be lounging on a pier with your feet dangling in the lake.
Also the lumberjack humor is quite Regina. I have met some of the most amazing, funny, smart and caring people here. Truly some friends that will be with me for a life time.”
I am grateful for Printed Matter.

I am grateful for this envelope. Melissa put the rent money for the studio in this, and brought it over to a restaurant where we were eating dinner. We displayed it at the bar while we were eating.

I am grateful for this old photo I found. I loved that hat. Max hated it. It ‘mysteriously’ disappeared when we moved to San Francisco.

I am grateful for Katie and Angie’s upcoming wedding. It is going to be an awesome wedding!
